How to Hide Reels and Suggested Posts on Facebook

Updated October 2026 · v1.0.4

Reels and Suggested posts are not the same as a sponsored label. Facebook mixes them into the feed even when you did not follow that page.

You can reduce some of this in Facebook’s own preferences. Adblock Premium can hide the supported Reels, Suggested posts, and Recommendations blocks in Chrome. Free Adblock does not include those feed controls.

Use Facebook’s feed preferences

These settings follow your Facebook account. They apply in every browser where you are signed in, and Facebook can ignore them for some modules.

  1. Open Settings and privacy. From the Facebook menu, open Settings, then the feed or content preferences Facebook currently offers.
  2. Reduce suggested content. Lower suggested posts or similar recommendations if that control is present.
  3. Snooze a Reel or suggestion. Use the menu on that item. Snooze is temporary and does not remove the next card.

Hide the supported blocks with Premium

Premium feed controls run in Chrome on top of whatever Facebook’s settings already do. They only hide blocks Adblock recognizes.

  1. Install Adblock and open Premium. Feed controls are listed on the Adblock product page. Free install does not turn them on.
  2. Enable Facebook feed controls. Turn on the supported hides for Reels, Suggested posts, and Recommendations.
  3. Reload the feed. Confirm the cards you care about are gone. If a new Facebook layout appears, that block may show until the extension matches it.

Limits

  • Premium does not delete Reels from Facebook. It hides supported slots in this browser.
  • A paused site shows the normal feed again.
  • Friends’ posts and groups you follow are not the target of these controls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as hiding sponsored posts?

No. Sponsored posts are a free hide. Reels and Suggested posts are Premium feed controls.

Will this hide Reels I actually follow?

The control is aimed at suggested and recommended modules. If a Reel you want disappears, pause Adblock on Facebook and reload.

Does it work in the Facebook mobile app?

No. Adblock is a Chrome extension. The iOS and Android Facebook apps are separate.
