How to Download Gmail Attachments in Bulk

Updated October 2026 · v1.0.4

Gmail lets you download an attachment from the message that holds it. There is no “download every file in this label” control in Gmail itself.

Attachly’s Attachments action lists files from the messages you select so you can download them together. A Full pack ZIP, with a folder per thread, is the larger export.

Download files from one message

Use this when you only need the files on the thread you have open.

  1. Open the message. Find the conversation in Gmail on the web.
  2. Scroll to the attachments. Gmail lists files at the bottom of the message or on the card for that email.
  3. Download each file. Use Gmail’s download control. Repeat for every message if the files are spread across a label.

Collect files from a selection

Select the threads first. Attachly only looks at what you selected in this Gmail tab.

  1. Filter the list. Search Gmail for has:attachment and the label or sender you need, then select those rows.
  2. Open Attachments. Use Attachly’s Attachments action and review the file list before you download.
  3. Or build a Full pack. Full pack saves a ZIP with a folder per thread, which is the better archive when you also need the email around the file.

Files stay yours to check

  • Scan downloads the way you would any email attachment. Attachly does not vouch for the file the sender attached.
  • Inline images and real attachments are not always the same thing in Gmail’s UI.
  • Free covers everyday downloads. A label with a large file count is a Premium export.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I download a label without selecting messages?

Select the messages in that label first. Attachly does not crawl the whole mailbox in the background.

Does this work in the Gmail phone app?

No. Attachly is a Chrome extension for Gmail on the web.

Where do the files go?

They download to your computer through Chrome, the same as any other download.
