How to Download Shopify Product Images

Updated October 2026 · v1.0.4

A Shopify product page shows a gallery. Saving one photo from the browser is enough when you only need that frame. Saving every image, at the largest size the page exposes, is the slow part.

Product Image Downloader is a free Chrome extension by Pick Ads for marketplace galleries, including Shopify. Download only images you have the right to keep. A Shopify storefront is a normal product page. The downloader uses the gallery on that page, not the Shopify admin.

Save one Shopify image yourself

This needs no extension and makes the rights question obvious: you are saving a file from a page you can see.

  1. Open the listing. Use Shopify in Chrome on a product page, not a search results grid.
  2. Open the photo. Use the gallery so the large image is the one on screen.
  3. Save the image. Use the browser’s save-image command. You get that frame, often not the rest of the gallery, and not always the largest file the page can request.

Download the gallery

The extension reads the gallery on the listing you have open and can save a ZIP or separate files. Free includes the main gallery, supported variant images, JPG or PNG, and clean filenames, with no daily cap on those core saves.

  1. Open the product page. Stay on a single Shopify listing. Search pages and shop homepages are not the gallery.
  2. Open Product Image Downloader. The side panel lists the images it found. Confirm they match the product in front of you.
  3. Download ZIP or files. Premium adds product videos, square 1:1 images on white, a custom file-name pattern, and a CSV of image links. Skip Premium if the still gallery is all you need.

Rights and quality

  • Public on a marketplace is not the same as permission to reuse the photo in your own listing or ad.
  • The file is the largest size that listing page exposes. The extension does not invent a higher-resolution original the page never loaded.
  • If the gallery comes back empty, the page layout may have changed. Use Report this page from the extension so the parser can be fixed. That report sends the URL and basic diagnostics, not the image bytes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work on every Shopify page?

It targets product galleries. A shop homepage, an ad, or a page that draws images in a new layout can return nothing until the parser matches it.

Can I upload these photos to my own store?

Only when you own them or the rights holder allowed that use. The extension does not grant a license.

Are the images uploaded to Pick Ads?

Image bytes are processed in your browser. A voluntary bug report can include the page URL and counts, not the picture files.
