Account Information

When you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive and store information such as your email address or account identifier.

Usage and Interaction Data

We may collect limited usage and interaction data (via PostHog product analytics) to understand how the extension is used and improve its reliability.

This may include anonymous feature usage events such as installs, popup opens, premium clicks, and aggregated block counts. Events use an anonymous device ID — not your email.

uBlock Orgirin does not intentionally collect or transmit:

• Your browsing history
• Full URLs of pages you visit
• Full page content
• Facebook or YouTube post/video content
• Messages or communications
• Screenshots
• Passwords or authentication credentials
• Precise location information
• Session recordings or page DOM snapshots

The extension processes website content locally in your browser when necessary to detect and hide supported ads or unwanted content.

When you voluntarily submit a missed-ad or blocking report, we may receive limited technical diagnostics to investigate the issue.

These diagnostics may include:

• Website hostname
• Extension version
• Detector or rule version
• Report category
• Technical diagnostic information necessary to investigate the report

Reports are not intended to include full page content, browsing history, screenshots, or unrelated website content.

The extension requires access to supported web pages because ad blocking and content controls are performed directly in the browser.

Website content may be processed locally by the extension to identify supported advertisements or unwanted content. This local processing is necessary for the extension's core functionality.

The extension may use third-party services for authentication, subscription management, configuration, analytics, or other necessary functionality.

Google Sign-In may be used when you voluntarily choose to authenticate with Google.

Payment information is processed by the applicable payment provider. uBlock Orgirin does not intentionally collect or store users’ full payment card information.

Product analytics may be processed by PostHog. Limited anonymous usage events are sent according to PostHog’s privacy practices. You can opt out of analytics in the extension Settings.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the extension and its associated services.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Account information is retained for as long as necessary to provide account and Premium functionality or as required for legitimate business and legal purposes.

Technical reports and usage data are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the extension.

You can use the extension's core ad-blocking functionality without signing in.

You may choose whether to sign in with Google or use Premium functionality.

You can opt out of product analytics in Settings, and you can submit or decline voluntary diagnostic reports.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the extension’s functionality or data practices change. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
